People Operations Manager/ Specialist

At BrandAlley, we're on an exciting journey of transformation, and we're looking for an exceptional People Operations Manager/Specialist to help lead the way. In this role, you'll be the People Ops expert, ensuring our processes are efficient, our systems are connected, and our employees feel supported. A part of your mission will be embedding new HRIS systems (e.g., Cezanne) while managing the full employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding to policy updates. What will you be doing?

  1. Act as a strategic partner: Own hiring across all of BrandAlley, delivering full-cycle recruitment: sourcing, screening, managing processes, and closing candidates. Build and maintain talent pipelines through direct sourcing. Report on hiring metrics and pipeline data.
  2. Build and deliver an exceptional onboarding experience: Ensure new joiners are up and running quickly with all necessary tools, including overseeing automated probation processes.
  3. Oversee automated offboarding experiences: Collaborate with finance, IT, and other departments. Lead human aspects such as exit interviews and sharing learnings.
  4. HR system ownership: Manage Cezanne HR system, ensuring all employee data (starters, leavers, promotions, changes) are processed and documents updated.
  5. Lead the HR inbox: Drive automation and efficiencies.
  6. Manage contractor compliance: Keep IR35 documentation accurate and up to date.
  7. Maintain policies and processes: Keep them relevant, aligned with company values, and transparent.
  8. Collaborate with Payroll: Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing as needed.
  9. Data and reporting: Report key metrics monthly and drive improvements and efficiencies.
  10. Drive automation and system integration: Implement smarter ways of working.
  11. Support learning and development: Train the People & Culture team and managers on systems and automation.
  12. Lead continuous improvement initiatives: Enhance the effectiveness of People Operations and employee experience.
  13. Candidate profile: Proven track record in People Operations within a fast-moving environment (~200 employees), hands-on experience with Cezanne HR, data-driven, knowledgeable about employment law and IR35, solutions-focused, and ideally experienced in product-led people experiences.
  14. Personal attributes: Impeccable attention to detail, strong project management, independent and collaborative work ethic, excellent communication skills, and previous experience in e-commerce, retail, or FMCG.
