We are currently recruiting for a PMO Assurance Manager to join the PMO team on a full time, permanent basis, reporting into the PMO Manager.

This role plays a critical oversight role in ensuring that a project is being delivered correctly, according to standards, and is likely to meet its objectives. Acts as an independent reviewer and advisor to ensure the project remains on track, and within governance.
We are offering this role on a hybrid working contract, with most of your time spent at home, but you will be required to attend an office for team meetings/collaboration so you must be open to travel.
PMO is a service provided to all projects within Sysco GB, due to the nature of being a service provider the working pattern is full time. Working hours may need to be extended when business needs arise, such as major project go live or workshops.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Ensuring projects that support our strategic goals have the best chance of successful implementation.
- Development and maintenance of the Annual Health Assessment/ Assurance Plan
- Delivering portfolio, programme and project health assessments/ Assurance
- Recording and tracking of improvement areas identified during assessment/ Assurance
- Identifying improvement trends across the portfolio and designing new ways of working to ensure the projects are in the best health.
- Understanding the projects contribution to strategic goals and enterprise risks to understand the health of the strategic goals
- Providing guidance to the project team throughout project health assessment and during delivery of any improvement activity.
- Providing reporting for individual health checks
- Enabling Programme and Portfolio reporting that rolls up from project health checks to communicate Portfolio health and to identify common trends to drive improvement.
- Responsible for ensuring that projects are in the best place before moving onto the next stage
- Promote best practice and upskill the organisation in delivering project
- This role plans and conducts project health assessments in line with the annual plan and ensures that any follow up actions are completed.
- This role uses data insights and health assessment findings to identify trends or gaps in how we manage projects across Sysco GB.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have proven experience in a project assurance/ project auditing role and experience working as a Project Manager or extensive knowledge of the project environment. You will have an excellent knowledge of the Microsoft suite: Excel, SharePoint etc and be passionate about data and data driven decision making. You'll possess the ability to have an impact on the action, behaviour, or opinions of others, without using force or coercion and be a good collaborator, with high emotional intelligence and someone who understands and can respond accordingly to ensure there is a success outcome. You will also have the ability to communicate, influence and manage the expectations of a range of internal stakeholders - making sure information is presented accurately and effectively understood by the audience. You will have the ability to understand the bigger picture and understand how factors can impact the future vision of PMO, whilst being able to work to tight deadlines / schedules, whilst being methodical with excellent attention to detail alongside exceptional organisational skills.
