Job Location: This position can be based at NG House, Warwick or the Strand, London.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate and Create: Draft compelling written responses to Government consultations and Parliamentary inquiries, ensuring our voice is heard loudly and clearly.
  • Shape Our Narrative: Partner with Corporate Affairs Business Partners to proactively develop and refine policy positions aligned with the company narrative.
  • Drive Policy Prioritisation: Support the annual policy prioritisation process by engaging with UK business units and coordinating with US colleagues.
  • Analyse and Adapt: Monitor policy developments, assess potential impacts on the business, and recommend risk-mitigation strategies for Corporate Affairs.
  • Provide Insight: Draft briefing notes for the UK Executive team on key policy developments.
  • Network and Influence: Attend external events to create opportunities to influence policy proactively.
  • Build Relationships: Cultivate connections with government bodies and industry associations to gather policy intelligence and influence decisions.
  • Share Intelligence: Document and distribute critical intelligence to relevant stakeholders and take action to stay ahead.

About You

We are seeking a talented individual with a strong background in Policy. Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Policy Expertise: In-depth knowledge and experience in developing impactful policy messages and political positioning.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Ability to coordinate policy engagement across diverse stakeholders and measure outcomes effectively.
  • Clear Communication: Track record of communicating policy messages clearly to various audiences.
  • Political Insight: Understanding of the parliamentary and political landscape impacting the utilities sector.
  • Results-Driven: Ability to manage timely delivery in a challenging environment while navigating complexity and change.
  • Strategic Thinker: Contribute to key policy decisions by interpreting internal and external trends.
  • Confident Spokesperson: Excellent presentation skills and the ability to represent the company credibly externally.

What You'll Get

  • Competitive Salary: circa £59,000 – £72,000 per annum (dependent on location, capability, and experience)
  • Bonus: On target 15% with a stretch target of 30%

More Information

Hybrid/flexible working where travel to the office will be as per business need. Base location for this role will be NG House, Warwick or the Strand, London.
