Policy Manager

London

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement advocacy strategies targeting UK regulators, politicians, and media to accelerate decarbonization.
  • Commission and deliver evidence-based research to support positions on aviation, green fuels, and related areas.
  • Build and nurture relationships with UK policymakers, industry, NGOs, and other stakeholders, forming coalitions with key players.
  • Coordinate activities with environmental and civil society organizations, members, and internal teams for cohesive strategy implementation.
  • Work closely with colleagues in other sectors to ensure coherence and maximize impact across UK strategy.
  • Act as a spokesperson, generating and responding to media interest, speaking at events, and representing the NGO in public forums.
  • Support broader UK office activities, helping colleagues where needed and contributing to wider UK advocacy initiatives.

The Successful Applicant

Essential:

  • Strong understanding of the UK political system and policymaking, including political analysis, regulations, and legislative process.
  • Excellent project management, prioritization, and deadline management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-changing political environment.
  • Proven ability to collaborate in a dynamic team environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, adaptable to diverse audiences.
  • Experience as a spokesperson or handling media requests.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and ability to work with high autonomy.
  • Minimum of six years' experience in climate, energy, or transport desirable.
