Policy Manager

New Today

Overview

We are looking for an excellent communicator who will be a key member of the regulatory team within the Thames Water Strategic Resource Option (SRO) programme. This role supports the development of several projects to improve resilience to drought and minimise interruptions to water supplies in the Southeast while protecting the environment. This is an opportunity to work on regulatory alignment among the programme teams, prepare regulatory submissions and provide regulatory input in project development, specifically on the South East Strategic Reservoir Option (SESRO).

You will horizon scan for policy developments that might impact the SRO programme, maintain relationships with teams across the programme and with regulators, and lead on coordination of priorities within the SRO regulatory team. You will contribute to ensuring that the development of the strategic solutions progresses through relevant regulatory hurdles and identify opportunities to contribute and shape the wider regulatory reform agenda. Working in a small team, this role provides exposure to a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and the chance to influence long-term outcomes for strategic resource options.

What you’ll be doing as a Policy Manager

  • Responsible for alignment across the SRO programme on regulatory issues
  • Coordinating regulatory issues and submissions between the SRO team and Thames Water regulatory teams
  • Developing regulatory issue resolution plans and working with the teams to implement them
  • Horizon scanning for policy developments that might impact the SRO programme, analysing the impacts and presenting the findings to relevant teams
