WSP are looking for an enthusiastic and diligent Electrical Engineer to join the Maritime team based in the UK. As part of the team, you will have an opportunity to complement the wide experience of a highly knowledgeable and dynamic team of Maritime experts based in the UK and across the globe. You will be contributing to the technical delivery of a wide range of UK based and international projects for a variety of clients, ranging from local authorities to private clients and international terminal operators.
You will be involved in all stages of project maturity, including Feasibility Studies, Concept Designs, FEED Studies, Value Engineering and Detailed Design. Your duties will include preparing electrical deliverables such as Single Line Diagrams, cable calculations, cable block diagrams, plant layouts, cable routing, cable containment design and switchgear configurations, producing bill of materials/quantities for electrical systems, drafting specifications, reviewing contractor design submissions, and assessing them against employer requirements, specifications, national and international standards, codes and practice. You will work with equipment vendors on design packages and participate in technical evaluations, and with owners, operators and investors to assess the condition of electrical assets and their suitability, risk and need for intervention. The role offers hybrid work with site visits across the UK and occasional overseas travel.

Qualifications We Would Love to Hear From You If You
- Hold a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant Engineering subject, supported with significant postgraduate experience in electrical design and/or operation, maintenance and testing.
- Either have or be working towards professional registration with the Engineering Council UK (ECUK) at Chartered (CEng) level, achieving Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
- Be a Chartered Engineer or working towards IEng/CEng and a member of a relevant Engineering Institute.
- Demonstrate the ability and desire to lead the development of electrical deliverables and the assessment of assets under construction or in operation.
- Have knowledge of design, construction and operation of power and energy projects.
- Have experience working on Maritime projects such as container terminals, liquid and dry bulk terminals, offshore wind, ro-ro etc.
- Possess strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities and civil engineering skills.
- Be capable of checking and producing quality technical outputs and solutions.
- Be able to coordinate and work effectively with other disciplines and team members.
- Be competent in using MS Office based software.
- Communicate clearly in English, both orally and in writing.
- Be personable, approachable, enthusiastic and empathetic.
- Hold a full UK Driving Licence.
- Have practical experience of one or more of the following design tools:
- AutoCAD
- Revit
- AMTECH ProDesign
- ETAP
- PSCAD
- PowerFactory (DIgSILENT)
- Dialux
- Relux
