Overview
We are seeking a Practitioner Psychologist to join our in-house clinical team at Underley Gardens School. You will work collaboratively with the education team to deliver psychological assessment and intervention for pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, are neurodivergent, or have SEMH needs. You will follow the OFG Psychological Practice Ways of Working, hold a psychological caseload with support from a designated clinical supervisor and site lead, and contribute to school development, staff training and consultation as required. This role suits a resilient, creative and enthusiastic individual.

Responsibilities
- Deliver psychological assessment and intervention within an education setting in collaboration with the classroom and education teams.
- Hold and manage a psychological caseload with supervision and guidance from the designated clinical supervisor and site lead.
- Contribute to school development initiatives, staff training and consultation as required.
- Work within the organisation’s safeguarding framework and uphold pupil interests and well-being.
- Engage in service development activities and provide input on clinical practice improvements.
- Develop formulations and inform clinical intervention plans; produce coherent clinical records, reports and intervention plans.
- Deliver training to different cohorts and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Utilise evaluation tools to demonstrate and improve service effectiveness and outcomes.
- Maintain high professional standards and comply with HCPC requirements; undertake relevant induction and CPD activities.
Essential Criteria
- HCPC registration.
- Doctoral level degree in Clinical, Counselling, Forensic or Educational Psychology (or equivalent if qualified before Doctorate introduction).
- Experience in related settings or with the relevant client group; multi-disciplinary working experience.
- Experience communicating with families/relatives and carers; working across different organisational systems.
- Experience using a model of assess, plan, do and review; effective use of consultation as a service delivery method.
- Competence in core areas of psychological practice and knowledge of trauma-informed practice and neurodiversity.
- Ability to develop formulations and inform clinical intervention plans; ability to write coherent clinical records and reports.
- Strong communication, IT skills and ability to work with a range of professionals; effective time management and organisational skills.
- CPD evidence and willingness to travel as required; full driving licence and access to a car.
- Commitment to organisational values and flexible working approaches.
Desirable
- Experience with neuro-diverse populations and/or SEMH in school or residential settings.
- Experience providing supervision to others.
- Knowledge of current legislation affecting clinical practice and client groups.
- Post-qualification training in topics related to the role or client group; training in evidence-based interventions.

Location
Underley Gardens School, Kirkby Lonsdale (3 days) and other group sites (2 days) as negotiated.
Contract and Salary
- Permanent contract; term-time only or flexible full-time arrangements may be discussed.
- Salary up to £70,000 (pro rata, DOE) plus a Welcome Bonus scheme (£1,500 after one month and £1,500 after probation).
- 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with overlap to core school hours; full or part-time hours considered.
