Role Overview
We are seeking a commercially astute and technically confident Pre-Sales Consultant with a strong background in IT reselling and deep expertise in Microsoft licensing. This role is pivotal in supporting our sales team to deliver tailored, value-driven solutions to clients across sectors. You’ll act as the bridge between technical capability and business need - translating customer requirements into scalable licensing and cloud solutions.
Location
North West England (Manchester, Liverpool, or surrounding areas). Hybrid working available – occasional travel to client sites and HQ.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Account Managers to support client engagements, presentations, and solution proposals
- Lead discovery sessions to understand client infrastructure, licensing needs, and business goals
- Design and recommend Microsoft licensing solutions (CSP, EA, Open Value, etc.) aligned with compliance and cost-efficiency
- Deliver technical pre-sales support across Microsoft 365, Azure, and related cloud offerings
- Create and present compelling solution documentation, licensing breakdowns, and ROI models
- Stay current with Microsoft licensing updates, incentives, and partner programs
- Support bid responses, tenders, and RFPs with accurate licensing and solution input
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients and internal teams on Microsoft licensing strategy
- Collaborate with technical architects and post-sales teams to ensure seamless handover and delivery
Required Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in a reseller or MSP environment
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft licensing models (CSP, EA, MPSA, Open Value)
- Strong understanding of Microsoft cloud technologies: Microsoft 365, Azure, Teams
- Excellent communication and presentation skills — able to simplify complex licensing structures
- Commercial awareness and ability to identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities
- Experience supporting mid-market and enterprise clients
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-900, AZ-900, or licensing-specific credentials) desirable
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across sales and technical teams
