Location: Manchester (Hybrid)

Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 + Benefits

Overview

A leading environmental consultancy is seeking a Principal Air Quality Consultant to join its established team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to take a key technical and strategic role, leading a growing air quality team and delivering high-value impact assessments, modelling projects, and regulatory compliance work across multiple sectors.

Duties

  • Lead the delivery of air quality consultancy projects for major developments
  • Manage dispersion modelling, emissions assessments, and regulatory submissions
  • Produce and review Environmental Statement chapters and technical reports
  • Develop client relationships and contribute to business growth
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior consultants
  • Liaise with developers, planners, and local authorities to ensure project success

Skills and Experience

  • 6+ years' experience in air quality consultancy or regulatory practice
  • Strong understanding of ADMS, AERMOD, and IAQM/EPUK guidance
  • Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related discipline
  • Chartered status (CEnv/IAQM) desirable
  • Proven experience in client management and project leadership
  • Excellent communication and report‑writing skills
  • Full UK driving licence
