Principal Air Quality Consultant

Location: Manchester (Hybrid) Salary: GBP50,000 – GBP65,000 + Benefits This is a permanent role in a leading environmental consultancy, offering a key technical and strategic position within the established air quality team in Manchester.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of air quality consultancy projects for major developments.
• Manage dispersion modelling, emissions assessments, and regulatory submissions.
• Produce and review Environmental Statement chapters and technical reports.
• Develop client relationships and contribute to business growth.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior consultants.
• Liaise with developers, planners, and local authorities to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in air quality consultancy or regulatory practice.
• Strong understanding of ADMS, AERMOD, and IAQM/EPUK guidance.
• Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related discipline.
• Chartered status (CEnv/IAQM) desirable.
• Proven experience in client management and project leadership.
• Excellent communication and report‑writing skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
