Role: Senior/Principal Safety Engineer

Location: Southampton (3 days remote, 2 days onsite)

Duration: 6 months

Inside IR35: Umbrella

They play a key role in enhancing national security, innovation, and operational capability across critical domains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advice to customer with safety management arrangements for defence land based systems.
  • Compliance with Def Stan 00-056, 00-055, 61508, POSMS
  • Chair Hazard workshops
  • Hazard log
  • Identification of derived safety requirements
  • Safety argument for a computer based system, software and data integrity
  • Safety and Environmental Case report
  • Safety and Environmental Management plan (updates)
  • Working within our client's team of other SMEs
  • Reach back to software safety assurance expertise
  • Agile lifecycle experience and collaborative working in multi-discipline teams

Experience Required

  • Self-starter who can work on own initiative and confidently interact with customers
  • Ability to lead workshops and safety discussions
  • Sufficient experience of 61508
  • Experience with Agile methods
  • Cloud-based systems
  • Principles of data safety
