Overview

Principal/Senior or Experienced HV Plant Design Engineer (Substation Design) at Stantec. This role is part of the Energy team and involves FEED design and detailed design for substation refurbishment/extensions and new-build projects. Projects may include HVDC, interconnectors, windfarms, substations, overhead lines, building design, protection systems, FEED, new builds, refurbishment works, and connection schemes.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the HV team on electrical substation design projects.
• Support and/or lead FEED design and detailed design for substation refurbishment/extensions and new-build projects.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and clients, and coach and contribute to the energy team.
• Engage with UK clients and develop innovative and sustainable solutions to industry challenges.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• Experience as HV Substation / Primary Plant Design Engineer.
• Experience in design and specification production for HV substation plant electrical power systems and associated components.
• Understanding of protection and control (P&C) aspects is preferable.
• Proactive, with knowledge of the electricity transmission and distribution industry; able to coach and collaborate within a team; willingness to learn.
