Procurement & Cost Insight & Engagement Manager

This is a hybrid role with multiple office locations available: Yorkshire, Glasgow, Buckinghamshire.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sole Contributor supporting Engagement Leads with internal and external engagements.
  2. Drive cost and procurement strategy.
  3. Present strategic ideas to the Senior Leadership Team, considering industry changes and market best practices.
  4. Manage outward-facing interactions with CIPS, ACCA, and Procurement Leaders.
  5. Own procurement brand, communications, town hall events, and supplier events.
  6. People management (50%) — oversee Learning & Development for a procurement team of over 100 members.
  7. Foster a proactive and engaging team environment, leading by example.

The role requires collaboration across Cost and Procurement, the organisation's supply chain, and the Service Management community of practice teams. Responsibilities include delivering functional enablement, training, communication, and people strategy initiatives. You will report directly to the Cost & Procurement Insight and Enablement Lead. Specific duties include:

  1. Gather insights from stakeholder surveys, supplier feedback, market insights, and benchmarks to enhance cost and procurement excellence.
  2. Develop and deliver a people capabilities plan aligned with current and future talent development strategies.
  3. Achieve measurable improvements in people capabilities, aiming for top quartile results across all areas.
  4. Translate business and functional goals into clear team objectives.
  5. Embed and promote the utilisation of our operating model and frameworks, increasing brand awareness.
  6. Create and implement a cost and procurement people development model aligned with best practices and continuous improvement.
