An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement Manager to join our expanding team and organisation. Crescent Purchasing Consortium (CPC) is a not-for-profit purchasing consortium that produces compliant purchasing frameworks and provides specialist advice on spending practices and value for money. Our longstanding history and dedication have earned CPC a reputation for excellence, supporting public sector organisations with a combined non-pay spend of £441m throughout the 2023/24 financial year.

What’s the role?

The role is offered as a full-time position (part-time applicants are also welcome to apply).

You will be responsible for providing a proactive and comprehensive service, advising on all aspects of procurement. You will take full management responsibility for client accounts, including the timeliness and quality of procurement exercises, conducting exercises personally where appropriate. Working with procurement teams, you will set priorities, support, and lead the process for procuring contracts across various categories, projects, and services for clients. You will support the development and delivery of the company's strategic procurement programme.

This role will contribute to embedding best practices, efficiency, and effectiveness within procurement processes and decisions, ensuring compliance with current PCRs and future UK legal obligations. You will assist the company in achieving value for money and savings targets for our clients and support the team in delivering outstanding procurement services.

You will be responsible for the operational and strategic management of the Procurement team assigned to you. You will lead a high-performing, engaged team to deliver procurement strategic objectives while balancing value delivery for our customers with company commercial interests.

The role is predominantly home-based but will require some travel to visit clients within the region as needed.

Person Specification

We are looking for someone with extensive procurement experience within the public or education sector and strong knowledge of the Public Sector Procurement Act 2023. The candidate should be confident in managing a team and qualified to ILM level 3 or willing to work towards this qualification.
