About the Role:

Step into a role at the very heart of premium beef procurement, where your expertise will directly shape the quality of every dining experience. The Red Meat Procurement Manager role presents an exciting opportunity to apply your procurement expertise and passion for the beef industry at the heart of a dynamic business serving the food sector. In this strategic position, you will oversee all aspects of beef sourcing, from negotiating with premium suppliers to driving innovation and upholding the highest quality standards. You will bring together deep knowledge of beef procurement with strong commercial insight, regularly travelling to build and nurture supplier relationships to ensure a consistent, high-quality supply of meat. Operating within a hybrid work environment, with regular weekly visits to our client’s central London office, you will take a forward-thinking, strategic approach to optimise efficiencies and deliver exceptional results. Responsibilities

  • To manage end-to-end beef procurement, encompassing contract management, pricing, supply planning, product specification, and strategic future planning.
  • To lead and cultivate supplier relationships through regular visits to build strong partnerships while sourcing new suppliers that meet quality standards.
  • To collaborate with butchery partners and in-house butchers to ensure a consistent, fully traceable, and efficient supply of high-quality beef.
  • To support innovation by exploring new cuts and opportunities, contributing to menu trials.
  • To keep updated on local and global market trends, gather market intelligence, and share insights with the team and wider business.
  • To work collaboratively across the business, to ensure sustainability objectives and overall business goals are achieved.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a procurement, production, or supply chain role within the red meat sector.
  • An in-depth knowledge of beef production systems and carcass quality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across a range of audiences.
  • A relationship builder and negotiator, able to cultivate and forge strong supplier relations.
  • Highly organised with strong commercial acumen.
  • A problem solver, able to adapt quickly and respond to a fast ever-changing environment.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate a keen ability to identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Highly personable with a professional and strategic mindset.
  • A collaborative team player, also able to work autonomously when required.
  • Proficient in IT skills and use of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • UK driving licence and the willingness to travel regularly.
