Department: Product
Employment Type: Permanent
Location: London
Description
Location: hybrid, in-office 2 days per week. Mainly in our London (Tower Bridge) office, with once per month in our Fleet (Hampshire) office.
Tempcover is at the forefront of the fast-growing world of short-term insurance. Our mission is to make car insurance flexible, quick, and easy for drivers. We’ve sold millions of policies that have helped drivers get where they need to go, but we’re not finished there. We’re growing our team to help us continue in that mission. If you are extraordinary at what you do and want to be a part of a rapidly growing business at the cutting edge of the Insurtech industry, we would love to hear from you.
This is a critical senior individual contributor role at a pivotal moment for Tempcover. We are looking for a leader in executing product-led growth, with a direct mandate to improve user journeys and conversion, and deliver a significant, measurable impact on Tempcover\'s growth.
As an experienced Product Lead, you’ll work alongside a Lead Product Designer, Lead Product Analyst and Customer Experience Manager as part of the Product Leadership team.
What you\'ll be doing
- Reporting to the Director of Product, you’ll have responsibility for driving performance for our main short term car insurance product and its web and app customer experiences. You’ll leverage your experience to swiftly take ownership of your Product’s feature set and commercial performance.
- You will work closely with stakeholders and teams across Tempcover, including Marketing, Customer Experience, Compliance, Pricing, Underwriting and Engineering. You will have the opportunity to inspire and align colleagues, whilst helping them to achieve their own strategic goals and Tempcover’s vision.
- You will build an incredible understanding of the temporary car insurance market, including which features and opportunities will best drive your Product’s value. You will be accountable for your Product’s performance, and will need to clearly and confidently articulate your numbers, demonstrating how you use a data-led approach, and an experimental and growth mindset in your decision making. You’ll build a strong collaborative working relationship with the Lead Product Analyst, and build an understanding of the various levers that control your Product’s performance and how to influence them. You will be able to confidently attribute positive shifts in performance to changes in your Product, whilst supporting any investigations into unexpected changes in performance.
- You will work closely with a dedicated Product engineering team to build new features and experiences. You’ll build a strong high-level technical knowledge of how your Product works, including 3rd party integrations, to help identify and solve problems and identify new opportunities. You should be comfortable in having technical and functional conversations and be part of decision making when agreeing technical solutions and compromises. You will participate in all of the usual team ceremonies, e.g. standups and retrospective meetings.
- You will own the roadmap for our core insurance products, ensuring it aligns with the company\'s overall strategic objectives and Product Strategy. You will be responsible for defining and delivering on the OKRs that measure the success of your products.
- You will build Now, Next, Later roadmaps for a 6-12 months time horizon, setting clear expectations for delivery of current work on an ongoing basis. You will be able to demonstrate how your roadmap aligns with your Product’s goals and Tempcover’s strategy.
- You should be passionate about customer insight, and using this to build the absolute best Product that you can to solve customer needs. You will talk to customers on a regular basis, and will build strong relationships with the Customer Experience team, ensuring customer contacts are reduced through positive Product changes. You’ll work with our Lead Product Designer to build user journeys and Prototypes to test with customers.
- You will ensure that Product processes and principles are consistently applied and evolved over time.
- You will be an expert communicator and will inspire those around you to build amazing Tempcover products for our customers.
What we\'re looking for
- Strong business acumen, with examples of how you’ve measured and driven commercial performance for a Product that you’ve personally led.
- Experience in A/B and multivariate testing and self-service analytical tools.
- Strong customer focus, with examples of how customer insight has driven your Product.
- Enjoyment of the craft of great Product management as a senior individual contributor, working directly with a Product team with agile working.
- Awareness and excitement of how emerging technology trends and opportunities benefit Product. You’ll already use AI tools in your daily work.
- Ability to demonstrate how you’ve effectively managed stakeholders, giving examples of how you’ve inspired collective action, as well as transformed difficult situations and conflicts into opportunities for growth.
- Examples of how you’ve developed the strategic direction for your product, aligned to a company mission and business objectives.
- A master of prioritisation, showing how you’ve proactively identified and resolved conflicts between competing strategies.
- How you’ve evangelised your Product at all levels of the business.
- Demonstration of how you are highly data literate and performance driven.
- Examples of how you’ve solved difficult challenges across a wider business.
- Demonstration of your recognition as an expert on a significant area of a business.
