Overview
Sheffield City Centre (Hybrid)
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000
We are hiring a Product Owner to play a central role in shaping and delivering high-impact features across our Property Marketplace and Agent Portal. This individual will be the heartbeat of our domain-led product development, turning commercial goals into product outcomes that drive agent engagement, boost agent retention, and increase the return of Utility Service Orders.
This role will work closely with cross-functional teams, reporting into the Product Manager and ultimately the Head of Core Platform. You will be deeply embedded in the delivery lifecycle, from roadmap planning and stakeholder alignment to sprint execution and outcome measurement.
You will own the backlog, champion user needs (internal and external), and focus delivery efforts on strategic growth areas, including Build to Rent (BTR) and Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Own and prioritise the Property Marketplace and Agent Portal backlogs, balancing commercial impact with technical feasibility
- Translate business objectives into actionable user stories with clear acceptance criteria
- Work closely with engineering, design, sales, and operations to ensure shared understanding and timely delivery
- Support delivery of strategic initiatives such as BTR and PBSA by refining requirements and coordinating execution
- Act as the voice of the customer, understanding needs, pain points, and behaviours to shape product direction
- Monitor and optimise the return rate of Utility Service Orders through data-led iteration
- Lead sprint delivery with engineering leads, including backlog refinement, and sprint reviews with clarity and confidence
- Facilitate feedback loops across internal stakeholders and external partners
- Collaborate with the Product Manager on roadmap definition and release planning
- Contribute to domain knowledge within the wider product team, becoming a go-to expert on the agent experience
- Become the voice of product across the wider business, building confidence, transparency and trust around all deliverables
Skills and experience
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or in a similar agile product development role
- Commercially curious and outcome-driven, with a passion for delivering value and understanding user problems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical worlds
- Focused on clarity, not perfection, with a proactive and pragmatic approach to problem-solving
- A self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to take initiative
- Able to zoom in on detail and zoom out to strategy with ease
- Able to say, "not now" and champion ruthless clarity on what matters
