Project Engineer - Electrical

MWH Treatment is looking to strengthen our Delivery team with an Electrical Project Engineer based at Burham, with hybrid working available.

You will report directly to the Project Manager and assist the Proposal/Project/Construction Manager in coordinating an effective and economical plant design and procurement strategy. Your responsibilities include ensuring timely information issuance for construction, commissioning, and operational phases in line with the Contract Programme, as well as providing cost data for forecasts and evaluating variations.

Key responsibilities will include:

  1. Ensure project costs do not exceed tender/varied allowance
  2. Ensure all applications for payment are made on or before the due date
  3. Complete and submit contract reviews and monthly forecasts on time
  4. Maintain good client relationships at all levels
  5. Assist with the Project Management strategy
  6. Establish and maintain contract filing systems
  7. Assist in producing the contract programme; monitor progress and produce reports
  8. Provide data for the timely production of O&M manuals
  9. Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers
  10. Coordinate with site management on design and procurement issues
  11. Monitor subcontractor performance
  12. Assist in preparing construction completion and takeover documentation
  13. Participate in external networking/conferences/associations/groups for professional development
  14. Maintain a positive, solution-oriented approach, providing open and honest feedback
  15. Undertake other duties as reasonably required, consistent with the role's responsibilities
  16. Present a professional image in all internal and external contacts, maintaining constructive relationships
  17. Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
  18. Collaborate with design departments to ensure timely development of quality solutions
  19. Evaluate innovative solutions and processes
  20. Contribute to monthly risk and opportunity schedules
  21. Ensure designs are safe to construct, commission, operate, and maintain
  22. Complete the capitalisation process

Essential qualifications and experience include:

  1. Basic engineering background with knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes
  2. Working knowledge of various contract conditions, especially NEC
  3. Engineering/Technical qualification (minimum HNC) - Electrical
  4. Experience of supply chain expedition
  5. CDM & Health & Safety knowledge

Desirable qualifications include relevant professional accreditation.
