About The Company

Established in 2009, the company is a high quality, specialist organisation which provides dynamic consultancy and project management services in the construction industry. Our projects extend across significant blue-chip clients and our work involves complex residential developments, life safety remediation, major engineering projects, health, education, and renewable energy infrastructure.

We are looking for a talented Project Manager to join our friendly and highly effective team of professionals. You will be an integral part of the company and this role will offer the possibility to grow as the business expands its portfolio of services and clients. The role also offers considerable opportunities for increased experience and career progression.

Main Duties Will Include

  • Client-side project management (refurbishment/remedial and new build construction projects)
  • Working closely with the owner/director and other senior staff with a blue chip client base
  • Engagement with contractors, designers, suppliers, specialist, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Contract administration
  • Critical path programming
  • Site visits and inspections
  • Coordination for project teams
  • Task and information tracking
  • Status reporting
  • Risk analysis and tracking
  • Procurement and contract formation (JCT, NEC4 etc)
  • The list is not exhaustive and may change slightly depending on the needs of the business.

Hours

9am – 5pm Monday to Friday. Occasionally, there may be client events, training courses or travel that may take place at slightly different times.

Contract

Initial fixed term 1-year contract, with potential to extend.

Where

We offer the possibility of hybrid working. Some work will be in our offices based in Farnham, Surrey, some may be done at home, depending on the project. Occasional travel to meet clients, visit site, or to attend training will be required.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong team player with a personable approach
  • Construction industry experience to a confident level
  • Good sense of relationship management and perception management
  • Related degree, NVQ or other industry applicable training/qualification
  • Situational awareness
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a highly dynamic environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously across a wide-ranging workload
  • Self-motivated
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams proficient
  • Excellent presentational skills, written and oral
  • Strong sense of project risk and processes
  • Experience of programming and the use of Microsoft Project or other programming software
  • Client facing skills
  • A sound understanding of building regulations and planning processes
  • Ability to problem solve in real time
  • Commercial awareness
  • A sound understanding of construction techniques and specifications
  • High level of confidentiality and discernment

  • Residential developer experience and exposure
  • Understanding of facade remedial works and external walls
  • Understanding of structural works on existing buildings
  • Experience of works in occupied buildings/live sites
  • Professional membership, such as CIOB, MRICS
