Quality Engineer
Why Vax? Vax is producing high quality products into the marketplace and as we expand we need to grow the team. Our products are high quality and to maintain this is why we need you! We are looking for an engineer to deliver End to End Quality through multi-disciplined Quality Engineering tasks, for product life cycle concept to End Of Life.
Day to Day
The quality team work very closely with a cross sector of departments at Vax including: Product Design Engineering, Electronics, R&D, Product Management, Operations and Customer Services. Your role as a Quality Engineer is to support and guide products throughout the design and manufacture process. The role is incredibly busy with a number of project streams at different stages at all times. The role includes -
- Working as part of a Quality Engineering team bringing product from Design to Production to End of Life
- Delivering product assurance programs for products in the market.
- Working as part of a team to provide data analysis and deliver continuous improvement methodology throughout the product life cycle.
- Conducting product investigations using techniques such as Route Cause, Kaizen, 5 WHY, and other investigation techniques.
- Working with Suppliers/NPD team & using failure proof techniques such as Poke Yoke and process failure-proofing FMEA.
- Managing post-launch product changes and deliverables
- As part of the team provide pre and post-launch data packs for review.
What we need from you
- Great communication skills are essential. You will work with a range of different departments and people!
- Experience in route cause and failure analysis tools
- Understanding of PFMEA and fault proofing
- Understanding of product lifecycle
- Knowledge of FIT, FORM, FUNCTION across product development
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
- Good problem-solving ability applying a methodical approach to discover, identify, and resolve issues encountered.
- Ability to analyse data and extract key information.
- Use of Microsoft packages essential
- Previous experience working in a role that involved a hands-on approach to products.
- Engineering experience within consumer electronics
- Injection moulding experience would be advantageous but not essential
