Reporting to: Reconciliation & CMA Admin Team Manager The Legal Aid Agency We are an executive agency of the Ministry of Justice (MoJ). We are responsible for operationally administering the legal aid fund to provide criminal and civil legal aid advice to people in England and Wales.

Role Overview
The Reconciliation & CMA Admin Team forms part of the Contract Management & Assurance Directorate within the Legal Aid Agency. You will be part of a team that works closely with Contract Managers and with providers.
The Reconciliation Team are responsible for managing payments in excess of £30 million per month and managing the risk posed by the Reconciliation process. The role of Reconciliation Analyst is to manage the reconciliation of all Legal Help, Crime (Lower) and Mediation contracts, both live and withdrawn.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the monthly Reconciliation process operates effectively and in a timely manner.
- Make detailed, robust decisions on provider payment requests. Liaise with Contract Managers to agree an appropriate course of action and/or monitoring activity.
- Work within agreed SLAs and turnaround times.
- Provide statistical information where necessary which can be relied upon by the Senior Leadership Team and meets NAO requirements.
- Work collaboratively with Contract Management & Assurance, Finance, Debt Recovery and other LAA departments in this area of work as required.
- Continue to reduce the LAA's financial exposure posed by the Reconciliation process.
- Communicate with stakeholders in a timely and effective manner, ensuring outcomes are understood.
- Prepare comprehensive and tailored responses to provider queries, explaining the LAA's financial statements and payment system.
- Use financial and performance management data to identify key issues and ensure appropriate action is taken to address areas of concern.
- Design and develop Standard Operating Procedures, reviewing regularly.
- Take a lead on a particular aspect of the team's work, reporting progress to Team Manager and take responsibility for achieving targets associated with this lead area.
Requirements
- Effective IT skills including Microsoft Office 365.
- Experience of working in a process driven environment, operating within set rules and guidelines.
- Communicating clearly both verbally and in writing to a range of stakeholders
- Strong time management skills, managing workload to meet deadlines.
- Working with data to make accurate and informed decisions.
Desirable Knowledge, Experience and skills include Experience of Microsoft Excel and Experience of working with finances.
