From expanding overseas to managing the cash and trade flows of an established enterprise, the Business Banking team of Relationship Managers and Product Specialists provides a range of end-to-end solutions designed to help small businesses reach their potential. We are seeking a customer focused and commercially minded person to join this team in the role of Relationship Manager. You will provide dedicated customer service to a portfolio of clients with accountability for sales, service, risk and operational delivery. This role will have both external and internal stakeholders, Internal stakeholders may include Sales, Product Development, Risk & Compliance teams. This is a hybrid role based in London and supporting a client portfolio within the M25 region. Being open to different points of view is important for our business and the communities we serve.
Responsibilities
- Face to face meetings with SME clients, with up to 70 clients in your portfolio.
- Managing portfolio income of approximately £1.5 - £2m and SME clients with a £2-15m turnover.
- Driving revenue growth through understanding customer needs and by effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same.
- Adopting a needs-based approach which engages clients and increases new business. Growing the business sustainably, by identifying opportunities to expand a portfolio and broadening client relationships by leveraging HSBC's extensive network.
- Building a strong understanding of the client's business and industry to promote insights, enrich client conversations and deliver fair outcomes.
- Comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes.
Ideal Candidate / Qualifications
- Experience of working in relevant environments, i.e. Business/Corporate Banking or Financial Services. Commercial Banking experience would be advantageous.
- Proven ability in identifying and meeting customer needs is essential.
- Commercial credit and lending experience would be advantageous.
- A passion for delivering excellent customer service and proactively looking for innovative ways to improve this service.
