REWARD SPECIALIST
Our client, a global oil and gas operator, is seeking an experienced Reward Specialist to join their team in Aberdeen. This is a 12-Month PAYE contract role based in Aberdeen with hybrid working.
Role
Primary focus will be on developing and implementing compensation strategies, conducting benchmarking analysis, managing benefits programs and ensuring competitive and compliant rewards for employees. Requires a strong understanding of UK compensation and benefit practices, excellent analytic skills and the ability to collaborate with HR and various internal / external stakeholders to drive an effective rewards program.
You will

Technical/Functional
Strategy
- Develop and implement compensation and benefit strategies aligned with CPEL's goals and competitive market practice in the UK, making proposals to HR leadership for consideration as required.
- Conduct regular benchmarking analysis to assess the competitiveness of compensation and benefit programs ensuring alignment with market trends and best practice, making proposals to HR leadership for consideration as required.
Compensation
- Manage the annual salary review process, including salary structure reviews, merit increases and bonus calculations in compliance with UK regulations and internal guidelines.
- Review and analyse compensation data, identifying trends and making recommendations for adjustments or enhancements to compensation programs.
- As the employee rewards subject matter expert, you will enforce and maintain reward & pension process controls, and legislative requirements.
- Review, monitor and develop reward related policies and associated procedures to ensure they are fully embedded and understood within the business.
- Focal point within Compensation for matters relating to Trade Union negotiations, analysing market data and preparing recommendations for HR & Management review to support the pay negotiations.
Benefits
- Manage employee benefit programs, including pension schemes, health care plans and other employee benefits ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and market competitiveness.
- Manage external suppliers and broker renewals, with the support of Supply Chain, where appropriate
- Lead the delivery of the annual benefits cycle, maximising engagement with benefits consistently throughout the year
- In collaboration with our benefits intermediary, explore, evaluate and recommend opportunities that ensure our employee benefits offering is fit for purpose and provides maximum return for budget. Make proposals to HR leadership as required
Other
- Drive process improvement (simplification and elimination), automation to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Ad hoc reporting as required (e.g. accruals for finance, data analysis for Senior leadership)
You are
- Able to display a positive attitude and have the flexibility necessary to manage multiple priorities and challenges
- Strong ability on Excel
- Able to successfully move between research, planning and executing activities
- Project focussed with a flair for data analysis
- Strong in organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to multi-task and communicate with individuals at all levels and from various backgrounds
- Accurate, pay attention to detail, proactivity, and a high standard of quality in all tasks performed
- Able to work independently and manage multiple demands, including prioritizing and meeting deadlines
At a minimum, you have
- Graduate and CIPD qualifications with proven experience as a Compensation and Benefits Specialist or similar role, with expertise in UK compensation and benefit practices.
- Strong understanding of compensation practices, including salary benchmarking, job evaluation and pay structure design.
- Experience in managing benefits programs including pension schemes, health care plans and voluntary benefits.
- Proficiency in using compensation and benefits survey data and analytical tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and analyse complex compensation and benefits data.
- Strong project management skills to manage multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency in using MS Office applications, particularly excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with changes in compensation and benefit practices, laws and regulations.
- Previous experience with Workday.
