In this exciting role, you will be a key member of our global commercial team. As a senior team member, you’ll drive business development and develop innovative sales strategies for our energy market products. Your deep expertise in the energy sector will be crucial in devising and executing strategies that enhance our market presence and global impact.

You will lead and inspire your sales team, guiding them to achieve their full potential. Your responsibilities will include crafting and implementing effective sales strategies tailored to specific markets, driving substantial revenue growth through strategic planning, and ensuring exceptional client satisfaction. Building and managing relationships with key stakeholders will be central to your role, as you work to align their interests with our strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Experience: At least 2 years of proven success as a Sales Manager, ideally within subscription-based data or energy analytics sectors. Experience in other high-tech or data-centric industries will also be considered.
  • Performance: Demonstrated track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets, with evidence of strategic planning and execution leading to notable revenue growth.
  • Education: A relevant master’s degree (e.g., Business Administration, Economics, or related field); advanced degrees or certifications in sales management or the energy sector are advantageous.
  • Commercial & Strategic Mindset: Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify, develop, and seize business opportunities. Proven ability to devise and implement innovative sales strategies that drive impact and profitability.
  • Negotiation & Contracting: Skilled in managing complex negotiations with multiple stakeholders, including drafting and negotiating client agreements, and communicating complex terms clearly and effectively.
  • Analytical & Market Insight: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and market trends to inform strategy. Deep interest and knowledge of energy markets and technologies; prior experience in energy or power markets is highly desirable.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, capable of articulating ideas persuasively and building strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Organisation & Resilience: Highly organised, detail-oriented, and persistent, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and composure under pressure.
  • Teamwork & Initiative: Proven success in collaborative, cross-functional environments, with a proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to contribute beyond core responsibilities, including process and system improvements.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in an additional language, particularly one relevant to target markets, is highly desirable.

What we are looking for

  • At least 2 years of proven experience as a sales Manager, ideally within the subscription-based data and energy analytics sectors. Experience in similar high-tech or data-centric industries will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated history of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets. Evidence of strategic planning and execution that has led to significant revenue growth.
  • A relevant master’s degree (e.g., in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field). Advanced degrees or additional certifications in sales management or the energy sectors will be advantageous.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to creatively identify and seize business opportunities that drive substantial impact and profitability. Proven capability to strategise and implement innovative sales approaches.
  • Ability to remain composed and focused under high-pressure situations.
  • Skilled in managing complex negotiations with multiple stakeholders, ensuring favourable outcomes for all parties involved.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with a high level of persistence and meticulous attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • A proactive and can-do attitude with a strong willingness to contribute beyond the standard role, including improving internal systems and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Experience in negotiating contractual terms with clients and drafting agreements. Ability to understand and communicate complex terms and conditions clearly and effectively.
  • Enthusiastic about and well-versed in energy markets and technologies. Previous professional experience in energy and power markets is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical abilities with a background in business, economics, engineering, or a related field. Ability to analyze data and market trends to inform strategic decisions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and persuasively. Strong interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and team members.
  • Proven track record of success in collaborative, team-oriented environments. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
  • Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in an additional language is highly desirable, with specific emphasis on languages relevant to the target markets.

Desirable attributes

  • Sales, business development, sales manager and client relationship experience in energy-related subscription sales.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM system.
  • Previous professional exposure to energy economics, power markets or the power networks.
