The Salesforce Solutions Architect is responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of scalable, high-quality Salesforce solutions that support strategic business objectives. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will collaborate with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and Technology to translate business requirements into robust technical architectures. You will ensure that solutions are aligned with enterprise architecture standards, Salesforce best practices, and the long-term roadmap of the organisation. The role is pivotal in driving innovation, reducing technical debt, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the business. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, actively supporting Salesforce administration activities, and ensuring platform stability and usability. You will mentor junior Salesforce professionals, contribute to architectural governance, and play a key role in the evolution of our Salesforce ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and architecture of Salesforce solutions across multiple clouds (Sales, Service, Field Service).
  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical designs.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Solution and Software Engineers to ensure alignment between business needs and technical delivery. Conduct architectural reviews and provide guidance on solution integrity, performance, and security.
  • Define and document solution architectures, integration patterns, and data flows.
  • Ensure platform changes are deployed through the development pipeline following change control protocols.
  • Maintain architectural documentation and contribute to the enterprise architecture repository.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across Salesforce and integrated systems.
  • Support platform health initiatives, including technical debt reduction and release management.
  • Engage with external partners and vendors to ensure alignment with delivery standards and timelines.
  • Stay current with Salesforce releases and assess their impact on existing architecture.
  • Office-based role with a requirement of a minimum of two days per week at the Head Office in Edinburgh.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Salesforce Certified Application Architect or System Architect (or working towards).
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Salesforce architecture or senior solution design roles.
  • Proven track record of designing and delivering complex Salesforce implementations.
  • Deep understanding of Salesforce automation tools including Flow Builder, Apex, and Lightning Components.
  • Experience with integration platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, REST/SOAP APIs) and data architecture.
  • Familiarity with deployment tools such as Copado or Gearset.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Experience working with Salesforce managed packages.
  • Ability to mentor and lead technical teams, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
