We are looking for a dynamic and driven Senior Accountant to join our growing team. The practice offers a friendly and supportive environment where teamwork is at the forefront.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading assignments and managing a portfolio of clients, ensuring the service provided is effective and maintaining good working relationships with clients and with the team. The role offers a varied workload, including year-end accounts preparation, advising clients on opportunities, and completing audit assignments to gain experience in technical areas of accounting and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Role will be roughly 60% accounts / 40% audit
  • Managing a varied client portfolio including small and medium limited companies, group structures and LLP/Partnerships
  • Liaising with clients directly to respond to queries and manage work
  • Year-end accounts preparation for Partner review
  • Managing bookkeeping, management accounts and VAT Return assignments
  • Corporation tax computation work
  • Managing and conducting audits, including overseeing the assignment team
  • Supporting Partners with other ad hoc projects

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified ACA / ACCA
  • 3+ years audit experience
  • Experience managing an audit, with knowledge of charities and academies being a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of the main areas (statutory accounts, management accounts, VAT, corporation tax)
  • Driving licence
