Responsibilities

  • As a Senior Buyer you will lead a team of 2 buyers, 1 Junior buyer and 3 BA to deliver the commercial business strategy for Skincare (Facial, Clear, Body, Bronzing, Suncare & International Beauty). This role will play a key part in identifying and sourcing new products and delivering competitive promotional plans. This role reports into the Head of Skincare & Haircare at Superdrug Stores Plc.
  • Interact with a variety of stakeholders: Commercial, Suppliers, Marketing, Merchandising, Supply Chain and AS Watson occasionally.
  • Develop, implement, and deliver category plans including range reviews, promotions pricing and stock that are consistent with overall commercial strategy and financial objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and implement marketing promotion plans and strategies for the brands you manage.
  • Review and evaluate the effectiveness of promotions, taking appropriate action where necessary, and share best practice with peers and other stakeholders.
  • Work with suppliers to launch and develop NPD into the categories, including negotiating periods of exclusivity and bespoke campaigns on big brands.
  • Manage day-to-day category activities, read and interpret market data to make customer-led decisions; experience in negotiating fixed investment is required.
  • Write, present and deliver strategic objectives beyond day-to-day promotions, pricing and star buys.
  • Partner with Merchandising to determine the merchandising strategy that delivers the right range in the right stores, ensures availability, and controls slow-moving stock.
  • Work with Supply Chain to ensure base sales and promotional forecasts are adhered to while maintaining in-store availability.
  • Develop and maintain external relationships with suppliers to enhance the Superdrug proposition and meet customer needs.
  • Apply appropriate negotiation strategies to attain the best terms for the category and the business.
  • Manage and coach team members to achieve category and personal development objectives.
  • Commit to personal and professional development.

Hours: 37.5 | 9.00am - 5.30pm - Hybrid working available depending on role responsibilities with 2 days working from home and 3 days in our stylish, modern and collaborative office close to East Croydon Station.
