Reporting to the Head of Marketing, Campaigns & Brand, you’ll lead the planning, development, and delivery of high‑impact marketing and communications campaigns that support Network Rail’s Corporate Communications Strategy. You’ll provide strategic oversight across multiple channels – including paid media – to engage target audiences and deliver measurable outcomes.

This is a senior role that requires a confident communicator with a strong grasp of campaign strategy, stakeholder engagement, and performance evaluation. You’ll work closely with internal teams across Network Rail and external agencies to ensure campaigns are creative, impactful, and aligned with business goals.

About The Role (External)

About the team… The Marketing, Campaigns & Brand team sits within the wider External Communications & Engagement function and is responsible for delivering high‑impact, multi‑channel campaigns that support Network Rail’s strategic priorities. The team works closely with internal stakeholders and external agencies to ensure consistent messaging and maximum reach.

What Does the Average Day Look Like?

As Senior Campaigns Manager, you’ll oversee the development and delivery of national external campaigns that support Network Rail’s reputation and strategic goals. You’ll create structured campaign strategies and plans with clear objectives and KPIs, manage paid media plans, and lead creative agencies to produce compelling content.

You’ll collaborate across teams to ensure that marketing is integrated, monitor budgets for value and efficiency, and use data insights to evaluate performance and drive continuous improvement. Your work will change behaviour and help ensure Network Rail’s messaging reaches the right audiences at the right time, through the most effective channels.

Who Are We Looking For?

We’re seeking a strategic, results‑driven marketing campaigns professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, purpose‑led environment. You’ll bring a deep understanding of audience engagement and campaign planning, with the ability to translate complex objectives into compelling, measured marketing campaigns.

You’ll be confident leading multi‑channel campaigns from concept to delivery, with a strong grasp of paid media strategy, creative development, and performance evaluation. Your ability to build trusted relationships – both internally and externally – will be key to delivering integrated campaigns that resonate with stakeholders and reinforce Network Rail’s reputation.

You’ll be comfortable managing agencies, budgets, and timelines, and will have a sharp eye for detail and a passion for continuous improvement.
