Overview

Senior Consultant - Delay at Turner & Townsend. You will be involved in delivering expert delay reports for adjudication, litigation, and other forms of dispute resolution, and provide strategic recovery services to clients whose projects and major programmes are in commercial distress.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver expert delay reports for adjudication, litigation, and other forms of dispute resolution in support of our Expert Witness services.
  • Assist our contract and commercial specialists in providing strategic advice to clients in commercial distress as part of our Recovery service.
  • Work in a team undertaking detailed analysis of construction projects in the UK and internationally.
  • Develop career through mentoring, learning options, and opportunities to support on strategic objectives.
  • Maintain high-quality work that can withstand scrutiny by other parties.
  • Collaborate with clients, lawyers and counsel to develop positions where required, and contribute to client meetings.
  • Support on drafting of detailed expert witness reports for formal dispute resolution proceedings.
  • Travel opportunities with an established global presence; majority of practice can be delivered remotely with base at local office and flexible work arrangements.

Qualifications

  • Relevant construction and engineering industry experience (+7 years).
  • A construction-related degree qualification and/or legal qualification.
  • Experience in developing and pursuing claims up or down the supply-chain.
  • Ability to understand and articulate client requirements and desired outcomes.
  • Critical analysis of project and major programme performance to identify root causes of distress.
  • Experience reviewing and assessing contemporaneous project records to establish delay related to claims and disputes.
  • Working knowledge of project management and planning tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, TILOS, CEMAR, Excel).
  • Ability to participate in client meetings and assist clients, lawyers and counsel in developing positions as required.
  • Experience drafting detailed expert witness reports for dispute resolution and supporting colleagues with project deliverables.
  • Staying abreast of developments within own technical area and providing direction to staff on specific tasks.
  • Supporting interfaces with clients and other consultants at all project stages.
  • Ambassador for the Contract Services delivered by Turner & Townsend in the industry.
