Join to apply for the Senior Credit Controller role at Brodies LLP. About the Role This role is to work as a senior member of the credit control team. The candidate will work closely with the Credit Control Coordinator to help oversee the day-to-day operations and running of the credit control team and to ensure the credit control objectives set for the team are met. They will support the credit control team to ensure they provide an efficient and effective service. The candidate will be expected to take a pro‑active approach to the credit control process and be able to apply their knowledge in all aspects of the credit control processes, particularly to the more complex demands. The role requires someone with excellent communication skills, as they will be expected to provide guidance and support to the credit control team on all compliance regulatory requirements and the team’s demands. Preferably the candidate should also have some legal credit control experience. The role requires the candidate to be in the office on a regular basis as appropriate and helping to run a large team of colleagues. Responsibilities
Assist and understand what is required to accommodate the more complex requests. Support the Credit Control Coordinator. Assist in the training and development of other team members. Dealing and understanding the requirements of all aspects of the credit control process. Deputise for the Credit Control Coordinator in their absence as and when required. Ensure that workload is actioned and distributed evenly within the credit control team. Liaise with the wider working capital team on revisions or amendment for invoice payments. Monitor instructions, tracking client activity and credit control requirements. Oversee all VAT Regulations and compliance procedures are followed. Support other team members to get things resolved where necessary and within the required timescale. Utilise systems to ensure the most efficient credit control process. Writing off irrecoverable debts when required.
Skills
Previous experience in a similar role. Adopt a flexible proactive approach to work duties. Good communication skills both written and verbal. Works as part of a team to provide an effective service. Excellent organisational skills and can prioritise time effectively to achieve deadlines. A clear understanding of all appropriate regulators such as the Law Society of Scotland Accounting Rules and the SRA. Knowledge of VAT compliance. Competence with all IT applications and seeks out opportunities to enhance the process at all levels.
