Our Risk and Compliance function has a critical role to play in supporting, challenging and advising across all areas of the business through establishing policy, monitoring profiles, and identifying and managing forward-looking risk and compliance.

Job Responsibility:

In this role you will:

  • Lead and develop Secured credit, property and climate risk policy for the UK, ensuring compliance with regulation and internal policy, driving good customer outcomes.
  • Formulate and implement strategies and business cases to sustainably grow the portfolio within the Banks risk appetite and enhance revenue across the credit life cycle.
  • Manage and develop MI and reporting to deliver actionable insight.
  • Work closely with Global Risk Teams to ensure guidelines and procedures are followed and that best practice techniques are introduced where appropriate.
  • Drive project prioritisation balancing risk and commercial driven initiatives and adapting to evolving demands.
  • Support the annual planning cycle providing insight and validation of loss forecast assumptions for the Secured portfolio.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with key stakeholders providing risk / reward related analytics and specialist advice to support the management of the portfolio.
  • Manage Secured credit risk governance, risks and controls through every day risk management representing Secured credit risk at key meetings and ensuring risks and issues are raised and effectively actioned.
  • Develop a highly motivated team through career development discussions, recognition, appraisal of performance and conduct day to day people management responsibilities.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Proven experience within portfolio management and credit strategy at a senior manager level preferably covering both residential and buy to let lending as well as property and climate risk.
  • Experience of having devised and specified analysis to be performed by others.
  • Relevant experience of working in an analytical or strategy role within financial services or an alternative data-driven organisation.
  • Possess strong influencing, negotiation and excellent communication skills gained from previous roles.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to deal with multiple stakeholders at any one time.
  • Experienced people leader able to motivate and develop teams.
  • Strong understanding of the risk management framework.
  • Highly developed analytical skills to extract information from data and translate to business language understanding customer and financial impacts.

This role will be based in either Sheffield or Birmingham, Hybrid.
