Senior Data Science & Analytics Manager – Booking.com Role Location: Manchester, UK Role Overview: Senior Manager of Analytics & Data Science Insights leading a team of data scientists and analysts. Reports to the Director of Data and sits on the Trips Data & DSnA leadership team. Key Responsibilities
Translate and communicate leadership vision to team members and build Data Science and Analytics roadmaps. Manage managers of data scientists and analysts. Manage stakeholders in product and technology teams. Facilitate prioritization of workload and ensure high quality of output. Drive implementation and deployment of complex projects across Trips Data, focusing on BTL. Align with centralized data science, analytics, and data quality efforts across Booking.com. Champion and deliver compliance within remit working closely with Trips Data Governance. Align with data infrastructure teams and analytics leaders across other business units to share knowledge and collaborate. Coordinate metrics alignment within and beyond Trips, including Trips-level aggregation and insights. Ensure high quality experiments are run and strive for continuous rigor in experimentation. Play an active role in the overall Data Leadership team.
Qualifications & Skills
Proven experience as manager, plus experience managing managers and complex teams in a multidimensional environment. Driven and results‑oriented personality. Open to feedback and always looking for ways to improve own performance. Exceptional analytical skills, with a proven track record of applying analytics and data science to solve complex business problems. Think strategically to identify areas where data science and analytics can make a significant impact on the business. Able to understand details while keeping an eye on the bigger picture. Able to spot opportunities to drive business growth from craft. Analytical and curious mindset. Strong interpersonal skills. Expertise and experience in data analysis. Expertise in data management, data visualization and quality. Strong communication skills to work with senior business leaders. Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with customer and partner teams. Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to hire, manage, and develop a team.
Desirable Skills
Lives and breathes data and analytics. Has a proven track record of leading analytical and data science organizations in large businesses. Is a servant leader, an experienced mentor and passionate about people. Has experience measuring, managing and driving behavioural change through data and analytics to support stronger decision making. Has a strong working knowledge of end‑to‑end data lifecycles and strategy. Works well with senior stakeholders to understand what the business is trying to achieve and use data metrics and insights to accelerate, shape and measure.
