We’re working with a leading main contractor seeking a Senior Design Manager to play a key role on a high-profile custodial scheme. The role will be split between office & site in Cambridgeshire and Suffolk, with flexibility to spend more time at the location closer to you.

We are also interested in speaking to Design Managers who are interested in moving into a more senior position.

We do not require applicants to have experience within the custodial sector

The Opportunity

This position offers the chance to take ownership of complex design challenges while working in a collaborative, supportive environment. You’ll be driving design quality, buildability and compliance, while influencing innovation and ensuring best practice across the project.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Reviewing design information to identify risks, opportunities, and areas to improve buildability before works begin.
• Leading the design process alongside consultants, project teams and external stakeholders, developing robust programmes and information schedules.
• Working closely with commercial and operational colleagues to ensure coordinated, practical, and cost-effective solutions.
• Contributing to workshops, value engineering and technical reviews to align the design with project expectations.
