Senior Director, Competition Enforcement – Competition and Markets Authority (CMA). Location: Belfast, Cardiff, Edinburgh, London or Manchester. Salary: Between £132,618 and £149,999 per annum. Closing date: 15 Sep 2025.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership of the Competition Enforcement directorate, developing and delivering the portfolio of Competition Enforcement cases.
- Work in close partnership with the Senior Executive Team and the Board; build strong relationships with external bodies, including international and national competition and regulatory authorities, to deliver impactful outcomes for people, businesses and the UK economy.
- Oversee multi-disciplinary teams of professionals including lawyers, investigators and economists to ensure high standards of analytical rigour and procedural fairness in Competition Enforcement cases; act as a visible, inclusive and empowering leader to staff.
- Shape CMA’s Competition Enforcement policy and practice to continually improve how the work is conducted.
About You / Qualifications
- Exceptional knowledge and experience in competition enforcement cases, whether leading the delivery of cases or providing legal or economic advice.
- A strong leader who can empower and inspire others to deliver impactful outcomes; demonstrated track record in strategic decision-making and proactive risk management within tight resource constraints.
- A highly credible individual with the ability to work collaboratively; strong communication and influencing skills to represent the CMA externally at senior levels.
