Your New Role, What’s Involved

As a Senior Fire Engineer, you’ll typically work on a variety of projects from a university in Scotland to a high-rise residential tower in London, with many international projects. The goal is to enable innovative architectural design without compromising fire safety.

You’ll run through design information, liaise with other WSP disciplines (Facades, Acoustics, Structures), present designs to local authorities and the Fire Service, and help inform the design team about changes to increase building safety.

You will be guided through software packages, fire standards, team briefings and client updates. The role includes support toward professional registration via IFE and other bodies, and a bespoke programme for technical and professional development, with training in the following areas:

  • Technical report writing
  • Team-specific technical skills
  • Project management (introduction and advanced)
  • Influential communications
  • Commercial concepts
  • Collaborative team challenges
  • Continuous improvement

What We’re Looking For

You should have a BSc (BEng) or MSc (MEng) in Fire, Structural, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Experience in the fire engineering consulting industry is required. This role can be based from any of our UK major offices.
