RPS is seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant to join our Environment & Infrastructure Team. The position can be based at various locations across the UK, on a permanent, full-time, or part-time basis. Your main responsibility will be supporting environmental compliance and consent applications for infrastructure projects, including renewables. RPS is a leading global multi-disciplinary consultancy specializing in the built and natural environment, shaping future environmental, social, and economic landscapes.


Your role:

This key position involves integrating environmental aspects of consents into project delivery, from design to construction. The Environment Manager will be responsible for:

  1. Managing and delivering multiple consent applications across disciplines
  2. Collaborating with clients and design teams to identify and manage necessary environmental consents
  3. Advising clients on environmental risks during pre-consenting, design, and construction phases
  4. Identifying required consents and assessments with stakeholders, regulators, and clients, and negotiating agreements
  5. Scheduling activities, managing environmental site teams, and coordinating technical meetings
  6. Producing high-quality submission documents
  7. Planning the integration of consent conditions into design and working methodologies
  8. Communicating consent requirements to site teams, clients, and technical staff
  9. Auditing consent conditions and compliance
