Senior Group Accountant role at Pursuit Resources Group. Location near Basildon. Hybrid working arrangement; candidate must be a car driver due to office location.

Requirements and qualifications

  • Fully qualified ACCA / CIMA.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, with a track record in a reputable, high-turnover organisation.
  • Experience in a control environment, SOX / ICFR; knowledge of IFRS is preferable; FRS 101/FRS102 experience is essential.
  • Previous Group Accounting experience desirable.
  • Strong financial reporting background with the ability to demonstrate experience in:
  • Monthly Group Reporting
  • External audit management – key contact point
  • Providing accounting and commercial support to the organisation as applicable
  • Owning the Group accounting policies (Controls)
  • Owning the Tax Risk management for the Group and ensuring compliance in corporate and VAT tax matters; managing relationships with external advisors
  • Preparation of month end journals, reconciliations, financial statements, and other financial accounting activities
  • IFRS experience preferable; ICFR / SOX experience
  • Internal audit management
  • Corporation Tax
  • VAT
  • Statutory accounts production – FRS 101 & FRS102 experience required
  • Staff management
  • Change management (processes and integration)

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to monthly group reporting and external audit processes
  • Provide accounting and commercial support across the organisation
  • Own and maintain Group accounting policies and controls
  • Manage tax risk for the Group and liaise with external advisors
  • Prepare month-end journals, reconciliations, and statutory financial statements
  • Ensure IFRS/IFRS-based reporting accuracy and reliability
  • Manage internal controls and SOX/ICFR compliance
  • Lead internal audit activities as appropriate
  • Oversee corporation tax and VAT compliance
  • Produce statutory accounts under FRS 101/FRS102
  • Lead and develop staff; drive change in processes
