Senior Infrastructure Engineer

LOCATION: Leeds or Edinburgh

HOURS: Full-time - 35 hours per week

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Are you ready to help reimagine how people plan, protect, and save for their future? We're looking for a passionate and forward-thinking professional to play a key role in shaping our digital proposition. You'll collaborate across teams and partners to design, build, test, and deploy innovative solutions that empower our colleagues and deliver real value to our customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build and deliver new cloud infrastructure that powers our platforms
  • Keep our existing cloud systems running smoothly and evolving with our needs
  • Share your expertise and support with the wider engineering team
  • Champion best practices in infrastructure security, resilience, and reliability
  • Make sure our platforms scale effectively with the right capacity and triggers
  • Guide our use of WAFs and CDNs, including smart configuration to optimise performance

REQUIREMENTS:

We're looking for someone who's passionate about cloud infrastructure and automation, and ready to make an impact. Ideally, you'll bring:

  • Strong experience across cloud infrastructure - compute, storage, networking, and security.
  • Familiarity with PaaS services and hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container technologies.
  • A solid understanding of cloud security models (IAM, Service Principals, VPCs).
  • Practical experience with infrastructure-as-code practices (e.g. Terraform or similar tools).
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools.
  • A proactive mindset, always looking for ways to improve and optimise.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

  • Exposure to Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Use of Docker in local development environments (e.g. devcontainers, Docker Compose).
