Senior Integration Developer – you will be an integral member of the Integration Team, specialising in the development of strategic IT solutions with a focus on interoperability and system integration. Your work will help deliver key components of the Trust's strategy, ensuring seamless connectivity between platforms and services. You will collaborate with colleagues across the RM Digital Services Team, as well as the connect team, EPIC and GOSH, contributing to complex projects that require technical proficiency and sound solution design. You will also provide ongoing BAU support for live systems, maintaining service levels and high customer satisfaction.

You will act as the technical integration lead on major initiatives, serve as a Subject Matter Expert in critical application domains, mentor junior developers, and lead technical workshops to promote knowledge sharing and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop integration and interoperability solutions in accordance with Trust development standards and the guidance of the Integration Development Manager.
  • Build extensible data acquisition and integration solutions to meet functional and non-functional requirements of the business.
  • Implement processes and logic to extract, transform, and distribute data across one or more data stores from a wide variety of sources.
  • Act as technical integration lead on major projects and contribute as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in key application areas.
  • Mentor less experienced members of the Integration Team and lead technical workshops on a wide range of topics.
  • Provide BAU support for in-use solutions and ensure service levels and customer satisfaction are met.

Education/Qualifications

Essential

  • Master's degree in computer science or related subject, or equivalent experience in large-scale, complex IT solution implementations involving integration/interoperability

Desirable

  • ITIL V3 certified

Experience

Essential

  • Extensive experience on business-led IT projects as a software developer/integration engineer
  • Significant recent experience with industry-standard integration engines
  • Significant experience in integration/interoperability development within a healthcare setting
  • Successful track record of project delivery across the IT systems lifecycle
  • Experience in technical management
  • Experience liaising with software suppliers and mentoring technical IT staff

Desirable

  • Experience with InterSystems Toolset (Cache, HealthConnect/HealthShare)
  • Experience of clinical software manufacture and deployment

Skills/Abilities/Knowledge

Essential

  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare integration technologies and standards (HL7, IHE, FHIR)
  • Advanced data flow analysis and data mapping between systems
  • Industrial-grade programming skills in Cache Object Script, JavaScript, C#, SQL, HTML, XML, XSLT, XDS, SOAP/REST
  • Knowledge of information security and data protection for patient/clinical information
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to work to agreed objectives and deliver on a complex project plan with minimal supervision
  • Strong delivery focus and ability to meet tight deadlines in a busy environment
  • Experience in environment management practices
