Senior Legal Counsel to join a leading insurance provider's collaborative legal team. This is a high-profile role where you’ll lead on complex legal matters, influence business decisions, and help shape the company’s approach to risk and regulation.

What you’ll be doing

  • Delivering strategic legal advice across the business, with a focus on insurance law, regulatory compliance, and commercial contracts.
  • Leading negotiations and drafting agreements related to insurance distribution, underwriting, claims, and financial services.
  • Managing legal responses to regulatory bodies including the FCA, HMRC, and other relevant authorities.
  • Supporting broker and distribution activities, including consumer lending and County Court matters.
  • Advising on company law and corporate governance.
  • Collaborating closely with the Group General Counsel and deputising when required.
  • Mentoring junior legal professionals and fostering knowledge-sharing across the team.

Flexible working

You can be based in the Manchester office with occasional in-person collaboration in the HQ (based in the South).

What you’ll bring

  • Qualified Solicitor or Barrister (or equivalent) with around 5+ years PQE.
  • Strong background in insurance law, ideally gained in-house or in private practice within the insurance or financial services sector.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks and commercial contract law.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for mentoring others.
