Group Senior Management Accountant

Location: Harrogate (Hybrid: 3 days/week in office, 4 days at month-end)

Permanent, full time

More about the role

We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Group Senior Management Accountant to strengthen our financial control environment and partner with central departments and group businesses. You’ll play a key role in producing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, statutory accounts, and supporting strategic financial initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present monthly balance sheet reconciliations and reviews
  • Assist in producing the Monthly Board Pack and statutory accounts for all group entities
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts and perform VAT returns
  • Manage capital expenditure reporting and the fixed asset register
  • Analyse exceptional costs and maintain tax-sensitive nominal account analysis
  • Partner with central overhead depots to ensure accurate month-end performance
  • Review operating expenses including rent, rates, and insurance
  • Ensure completeness of provisions and accruals
  • Maintain high standards in monthly group reporting and deadlines
  • Develop and document accounting processes and controls
  • Oversee credit card processes and support ad hoc financial projects
  • Provide guidance and support to junior finance staff

What about you

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA or ACCA) or actively working towards qualification
  • Experience in a similar role, ideally within industrial services or multi-site environments
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of FocalPoint and/or Access Dimensions is a plus
