Job Description

AECOM’s Ports and Maritime team is seeking a Senior Maritime Engineer with a civil and structural engineering background. The role will play a key technical role across multiple UK and international projects, collaborating with local authorities, private developers, defence clients, and internal AECOM teams.

Job Duties

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high‑quality design and technical documentation.
  • Prepare and present calculations using current engineering software (e.g., ROBOT, GRLWEAP, WALLAP, TEDDS, PLAXIS 3D).
  • Check and review technical specifications, reports, and notes to a high standard.
  • Review and comment on drawings and specifications to ensure accurate and timely results.
  • Mentor staff and support their technical development.
  • Assist in tender preparation (programme, cost estimate, resourcing, and technical input).
  • Design marine structures such as quay walls, piers, jetties, revetments, breakwaters, fendering, scour protection, linkspan supports, dolphins, and related elements.
  • Supervise construction of marine structures.
  • Apply British Standards, Eurocodes, and best practice in the marine environment.
  • Deliver projects across a range of cost and complexity.

Qualifications

  • MEng or BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Ability to obtain SC security clearance.
