Senior Pensions Actuarial Consultant – Scotland. Isio is seeking qualified pensions actuaries or those with significant UK DB pensions experience who are or are on track to become a Scheme Actuary.
We’re growing and want you to be part of our journey. The Actuarial & Consulting team at Isio comprises over 400 pensions experts advising clients across private, public and not-for-profit sectors. The role offers opportunities to work on defined benefit plans, large-scale communications projects, and pension provision initiatives, with scope to specialise and develop skills.
What’s the role?
We’re looking for qualified pensions actuaries or those with significant UK DB pensions experience who are currently a Scheme Actuary or aiming to become one to join our team. You should have excellent pensions consulting and technical skills, a commercial outlook and entrepreneurial mindset.
Day to day responsibilities
- Driving key initiatives in the delivery of UK DB pensions advice to clients, including managing key client projects directly and/or supporting partners and directors.
- Building relationships with clients directly, working as part of a team and developing colleagues.
- Assisting in the development of new business with existing and new clients.
- As a Manager, taking the lead and delegating responsibilities to junior colleagues on projects such as actuarial valuations and calculations for Trustees, and advising on scheme operations.
- Developing pensions strategies for corporate, public and not-for-profit organisations.
- Writing and delivering communications projects for members.
- Providing insurance transaction and scheme consolidation advice.
- Overseeing data projects such as benefit rectifications, pensions dashboards and GMP equalisation.

Where is the role?
The position is advertised in Scotland, with Isio offices in multiple locations (Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Croydon, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester, Reading). We operate on a hybrid basis, allowing time between office and home.

- Qualifications – FIA/FFA or Scheme Actuary or equivalent.
