Overview

Join to apply for the Senior Platform Engineer role at MVF.

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and evolving our platform to make it easier, faster, safer, and simpler for developers to deliver business value. You’ll combine hands-on technical delivery with strategic thinking, collaborating closely with product and engineering teams to ensure our services are resilient, reliable, and secure.

What you’ll do

The work is varied and dynamic. Much of your time will be spent on strategic platform improvements and feature delivery, but you’ll also contribute to supporting engineering teams and assisting in incident response when needed. Because of the breadth of our platform scope—from infrastructure and developer experience to observability and traffic management—you’ll have the opportunity to work across a wide range of technologies, even if that means we’re not deep specialists in every area. Strategic change is delivered incrementally, and you’ll need to make thoughtful trade-offs to maximise impact with the time and resources available.

Current challenges we’re tackling include:

  • Making it simpler for developers to manage web traffic, particularly bots and crawlers.
  • Reducing complexity and sprawl in infrastructure management, especially within Terraform.
  • Improving the developer experience of our platform services, with a focus on self-service.
  • Enhancing observability for traffic and ingress, building on our strong foundations with Datadog.

This role is ideal for someone who brings broad technical experience, thrives in a collaborative and sometimes ambiguous environment, and enjoys being hands-on while also influencing long-term direction.

What we're offering

  • Summer Fridays
  • Competitive holiday benefits - 25 days a year paid holiday, plus 8 bank holidays (increases 1 day a year up to 30 days)
  • Hybrid working - 3 days a week in the office
  • Closed for Christmas holidays - Extra days not taken from your annual holiday allowance
  • Work from anywhere for 2 weeks a year
