About the role
Roles in the Financial Hardship team cover a mix of policy and delivery-focused activity and involve regular close working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. We often act as subject matter experts on issues relating to financial hardship. We get involved in the full policy and delivery cycle – helping to answer the question of how the GLA or its partners should respond to a given issue and then leading or supporting the establishment of appropriate and effective interventions.

- Writing briefings and consultation responses on behalf of the Mayor of London
- Supporting the effective scrutiny and oversight of GLA activity by responding to London Assembly members’ questions and committee investigations
- Maintaining an overview of developments in policy and legislation
- Being responsible for ensuring projects are delivered in line with governance and finance processes

- Expert knowledge and experience of social policy, in particular within a London context.
