What you will contribute to the team

  • Analytical skills to prepare and critically evaluate performance measures (including earned value) and trends across multiple datasets.
  • Ability to focus on key issues and drive mitigating or recovery actions across the project.
  • Good people management and task facilitation skills.
  • Experience of implementing robust project controls processes and toolsets in relevant industries.

Responsibilities

  • Adopt and integrate project controls disciplines to support major infrastructure and built environment projects, including programme management, cost management, scheduling, reporting, and risk management.
  • Create and maintain project schedules that align with project requirements and reduce uncertainty in delivery.
  • Provide project reporting, monitor KPIs, undertake project reviews, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and client environments.

Required for the position

  • Due to the nature of this role, offers may be conditional upon obtaining the appropriate level of security clearance.
  • Experience on large-scale infrastructure projects in sectors such as water, transport, nuclear, and defence.
  • Educated to degree level and/or hold a project controls or management qualification (e.g. APMG Planning and Controls, EVM, PMQ, Prince2).
  • Flexibility to travel and work in different sectors and clients.
  • Risk management and reporting experience, including the use of ARM.
  • Knowledge and proficiency with Primavera (P6) or Microsoft Project and/or other planning and resourcing software.
  • Ability to create and maintain project schedules and project methodologies to reduce uncertainty.
  • Strong project reporting and KPI monitoring; able to undertake project reviews.
  • Ability to coordinate with other teams and have basic multi-disciplinary knowledge; comfortable working as a consultant in a client environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience.

Preferred but not required

  • PMO experience; support project managers in maintaining effective change management processes.
  • Monitor and consolidate project plans; PowerBI knowledge or experience.
