What we are recruiting for

We are currently recruiting for Senior Project Manager roles with Aviation project experience in airfield or terminal buildings.

  • Determine project management, technical services and external resources required for the project on an individual and team basis (e.g. additional services).
  • Plan, lead and manage a project team to deliver integrated, sustainable, and effective solutions that meet the project brief.
  • Establish strong working relationships with partners and key stakeholders at all levels, ensuring that all requirements are captured with approvals in place.
  • End-to-end execution planning and management with clear goals, roles and deliverables.
  • Ensure seamless integration of design, development, commissioning, delivery and process requirements.
  • Report project performance using project control tools, including earned value and quantitative risk analysis.
  • Ensure thorough management of deliverables and team safety.
  • Collaborate with the construction manager/delivery team and external resources to ensure successful delivery in line with stakeholders’ expectations; communicate strategies to the team.
  • Manage consultant team and project stakeholders to ensure effective completion of responsibilities including project brief/scope, fees, processing claims, deliverables and variations.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and negotiation skills to support client/customer focus.
  • Maintain the conversion program and complete submissions within milestones; proactively accelerate if the program slips.
  • Produce design and authorities programme integrated with procurement and delivery programme.
  • Ensure timely delivery to programme for concept, schematic, detailed design and design development; align with overall delivery programme and project milestones.
  • Assist with sequencing/methodology and production of stating plans.

Experience & background

  • Experience in complex project delivery within live operational environments.
  • Drive health, safety, quality and environmental matters on projects; challenge where needed.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in project management and/or construction-related discipline.
  • Knowledge of Construction and Property industries; understanding of estimating, scheduling, field supervision, contracts administration, procurement, financial controls and reporting.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills for resolving planning, estimating, contract administration and procurement issues.
  • Good interpersonal skills to prepare reports, negotiate and build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in planning, leading, and managing project teams in highly regulated environments.
  • Extensive knowledge of planning and implementation of complex projects with multiple stakeholder interfaces.
  • Proven track record of delivering integrated and sustainable solutions to meet project briefs.
  • Experience in end-to-end project delivery and communicating project deliverables across complex regulated industries.
  • Leading and influencing across internal and external teams; ownership of projects from concept to handover and closeout.
  • Ability to write and maintain project management plans, monitor progress, dependencies, risks and corrective actions.
  • Ability to drive design development, initiate surveys/site visits and write works information aligned with business case.
  • Contract administration with understanding of NEC contracts; ensure delivery to quality, time and budget.
  • Writing specifications, tender and contract documents, including risk registers and schedules; assess tenders for contract award with procurement and production colleagues.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, CDM 2015, health and safety and statutory legislation.
  • Undertake regular reviews, inspections and audits; manage contractors to meet client expectations.
  • Coordinate third-party liaisons (planning applications, land/access, power negotiations) in line with project programme.
  • Understand client requirements and maintain strong stakeholder engagement for complex third-party relations.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Familiar with tender documents and negotiations in large-scale commercial environments.
  • Airport airfield, baggage, terminal expansion experience.
