Recruitment Consultant – Cardiff

up to £35,000 DOE + comms

Permanent People are currently working with a leading, established recruitment agency. Their Cardiff office is expanding, and we are recruiting for a dynamic and driven Legal Recruitment Consultant to join their small, mature, vibrant team.

With an excellent reputation in the market, they pride themselves on matching top legal talent with prestigious law firms and in‑house legal teams. They have a consultative approach to recruitment which involves headhunting top legal talent across the country.

Key Responsibilities

• Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with law firms and legal departments in South Wales and across the UK.
• Candidate Sourcing: Identify and engage top legal talent through various channels, including LinkedIn, networking and social media.
• Interviewing & Assessment: Conduct interviews and assess the suitability of candidates for specific legal roles.
• Business Development: Proactively seek out new business opportunities and expand their client base within the legal sector.
• Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, legal salary benchmarks, and the legal job market to provide expert advice to clients and candidates.
• Negotiation: Manage the offer process between clients and candidates, ensuring a smooth negotiation and acceptance process.
• Placement: Successfully place candidates in legal roles, from junior associates to senior partners.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: At least 2 years 360 experience in permanent recruitment; other sectors outside of legal in professional services will also be considered.
• Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly with both clients and candidates. Strong negotiation skills and a proactive, consultative approach to problem‑solving.
• Attitude: A driven, motivated, and results‑oriented individual with a passion for achieving targets and delivering exceptional service.
• Interests: An interest in Property Law would be a distinct advantage.
