Overview

Senior Risk Manager - Payments role at Visa. The position is within Client Services, in the Client Lifecycle Operations Team for Europe, covering Client Onboarding, Licensing, Risk Lifecycle Management, Card Design and Cobrand. Our clients are primarily financial institutions and fintechs. The Ecosystem Risk Senior Consultant is the senior subject matter expert for the Risk Lifecycle Management function.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable assessing payments risk, applying customer centricity, and using a growth mindset to enable strategic direction and performance. This is a hybrid position with in-office days to be confirmed by the Hiring Manager.

Responsibilities

• Provide subject matter expertise relating to ecosystem risk onboarding applications, including extensive consultative support for new clients.
• Perform risk assessments on client applications seeking issuing and acquiring licenses.
• Conduct ecosystem risk desktop reviews with clients, establish the client’s business practices, risk management capabilities and operations, and identify areas for improvement to satisfy the Risk Lifecycle Management onboarding process.
• Maintain regular monitoring of new clients, identify operational, fraud or dispute concerns, and work with relevant stakeholders to resolve.
• Share subject matter expertise and guidance to enable the business and our clients.

Client Satisfaction and Performance Management

• Ensure ecosystem risk applications and submissions are reviewed efficiently with a client focus and appropriate controls, including an audit trail of reviews and management controls in line with agreed processes.
• Manage a diverse set of cross-functional and managerial stakeholders across Visa and client organizations.
• Lead governance activities related to Onboarding & Risk Lifecycle Management, assess internal risk controls, contribute to internal committees, and support regulatory reporting.

Continuous Improvement and Collaboration

• Identify opportunities to increase service quality, efficiency and risk management; implement improvements and collaborate with leadership to effect change.
• Lead transformation projects and pursue continuous improvement opportunities, working with Sales, Risk and enabling teams regionally and globally.
• Share learnings and knowledge with others and collaborate with the Ecosystem Risk Consultant and the broader team.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in the payments industry with strong issuing and acquiring knowledge.
• Analytical and experienced in managing risk; strong problem-solving and change leadership skills.
• Excellent consultative, communication and presentation skills; good interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong negotiation and influencing ability.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment and manage multiple stakeholders.
