The Role

The position is technical and ensures SNG compliance with landlord responsibilities, regulations and legislation. You will work with the Safety and Compliance Specialist – Fire to provide robust management in all fire-related activities. Utilize technical expertise in passive and active fire measures, fire risk assessments and risk mitigation. You will oversee fire-related cyclical servicing, inspection and upgrade programmes, and manage contracts and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on all elements of contract management relating to fire activities, identifying, recording and addressing underperformance and breaches
  • Develop cyclical inspection, upgrade and works programmes for fire aspects, centralised within the building safety compliance team
  • Collaborate with the Safety and Compliance Specialist – Fire to ensure regional alignment
  • Deliver and monitor fire safety compliance, meeting regulatory, legislative and landlord obligations; ensure the organisation receives competent advice
  • Develop and monitor methodologies for current and future fire activities; document scope, detail requirements and review against regulatory changes
  • Prepare, monitor and deliver performance reports against directorate and organisational targets
  • Manage direct reports with a focus on clear vision, direction, accountability and continuous improvement

What we are looking for

  • Experience of working to deadlines and achieving targets
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Up-to-date knowledge of fire safety legislation
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of fire safety in the Housing Sector

Qualifications

  • Membership of the IFE / IFSM or an equivalent membership body
  • Award in Practical Fire Risk Assessment such as IFE or CS Todd
